Pitch-perfect Jewellery Moments From the 40th Anugerah Juara Lagu

Last weekend, the 40th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL) drew the curtain on yet another landmark year for the local music industry. The annual event, held at the Unifi Arena in Bukit Jalil, saw first-time finalist K.O.I (Konflict of Interest) walking away with the grand prize for their hard-hitting rap track ‘Tiwikarma’. But more than a platform to celebrate stellar songwriting, the live showcase was a stage where eceptional jewellery creations mattered. They served as an extension of the storytelling that turned a composition into a cultural moment.

One of the highlights of the evening was inarguably the set seen on our 2025 BURO Impact Awards' Performer of the Year, Aisha Retno. Made by homegrown jeweller Habib, the necklace, rings, earrings, and bracelet are the epitome of luxury as they are anchored by spinels and rubies. These gemstones were cleverly chosen to complement the singer’s look for her flame-fuelled performance.
